Overview

Imagine better English skills…

It can happen at Georgia Tech’s Language Institute.

Our Intensive English Program offers 50 years of experience meeting the academic, professional and social needs of international students from more than 100 countries. Our curriculum emphasizes preparing you for academic and professional success through seven levels of proficiency, from beginning to advanced.

As a student, you attend 20 hours of core classes a week in grammar, writing, reading, and speaking/listening taught by highly experienced faculty with advanced degrees. Because our classes are small, with an average of 15 students, you receive individualized attention. You can also sign up for elective classes in the Fall and Spring sessions (electives are not available Summer session). Electives include

  • TOEFL preparation,
  • GRE/GMAT preparation,
  • vocabulary building,
  • accent reduction, and
  • moviemaking.

Outside class, you have access to individual academic counseling and advising, assistance for both on-campus and off-campus housing, and the state-of-the-art resources and facilities of a world-renowned university. You can participate in numerous extracurricular student activities including

  • a conversation partner program,
  • parties,
  • student council,
  • day trips,
  • sporting events, and
  • volunteer work.

Georgia Tech’s Language Institute is a member of both the UCIEP (Consortium of University and College Intensive English Programs), and the AAIEP (American Association of Intensive English Programs).
