Academic Advising
To help you with the application process to U.S. universities and colleges, the Language Institute has a full-time adviser, Jackie Ramezani.
Multimedia Labs and Computer Access
The Language Institute has three multimedia laboratories just for Language Institute students. The labs are used as writing and speaking/listening classrooms and are open for general use for two to three hours Monday-Friday. As a student, you are given a personal computer account, including Georgia Tech e-mail and an active directory folder on the server where you can can create a portfolio or store your class work.
Extracurricular Activities
As an Intensive English Program student, you have many opportunities to practice English outside class. During and between each session there are numerous class activities, including
- a hiking trip in the North Georgia mountains,
- volunteering at a local food bank,
- participating in a conversation party,
- going to a dance or karaoke party,
- sporting events,
- concerts and cultural activites, and
- dinner outings with faculty.
On Campus
Intensive English Program students also can participate in many activities provided through the Georgia Tech campus. These include lectures, options classes, and cultural week activities. As an Intensive English student, you can take fun classes on campus and meet American students through the Georgia Tech Options program. Learn more>
Auditing Georgia Tech Classes
If you are in the advanced level courses, you may unofficially audit Georgia Tech classes. The student adviser will help you find the right class.
Sporting Events
Georgia Tech has a number of sports teams you can support, including football, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, swimming and track. Visit http://ramblinwreck.cstv.com for more information about these teams and to learn how to buy tickets.
Ferst Center for the Arts
The Ferst Center for the Arts brings cultural events to the Georgia Tech campus, including dancers, musicians, comedians, and guest lecturers from all over the world. Learn more>
