Visiting scholars and Georgia Tech employees (does not include GTAs or GTAs) are eligible for:
- Tuition waiver for one course in the Intensive English Program
- A discount for evening classes
Georgia Tech students are eligible for:
- A waiver of the $100 application fee for the Intensive English Program
- A discount for evening classes
Intensive English Program
The eight-week Intensive English Program offers seven levels of study, from beginning to advanced. At each level of study, there are four classes available: grammar, reading, writing, and speaking/listening. Classes meet Monday through Friday for one hour per day. Learn more>
Evening Program
The Evening Program offers six-week classes for students at an intermediate to advanced level of English. The evening courses meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Course offerings include Practical Writing, Clearer Speech, Public Speaking, and Conversation. Learn more >
Applying to the Intensive English Program
To apply for an Intensive English Program course, you must:
Turn in the following documents:
- A completed Intensive English Program Georgia Tech employee application form
- A copy of your passport information page or resident alien card
- A copy of your gtID card (BuzzCard)
- A copy of your DS2019 document (for J-1 visa holders only)
- A TB screening form completed by a doctor or other relevant documentation
Take a 90-minute placement test on the first day of the Intensive English Program session to determine the best level for you to take program classes.
Note: Both waivers are available to Georgia Tech employees on a space-available basis.
Applying to the Evening Program
- Complete an online registration form.
- If you request a Georgia Tech discount, your affiliation with Georgia Tech will be verified during the registration process.
Note: Discounted seats are limited to three per class.
