Addressing the language training needs of individuals and companies

In today’s business climate good communication skills are essential. Miscommunication between managers and employees or employees and customers can cost a company business.

The Language Institute’s programs in English as a second language can help your staff members improve their ability to

  • write e-mails and reports more professionally,
  • speak more clearly on the phone and with customers, and
  • give oral presentations with confidence and clarity.

Our corporate clients have two options.

Option 1

Send your employees to an existing Language Institute program. We have several programs that can help your employees polish their language skills.

  • Eight-Week Intensive English Program: This daytime program offers daily classes in grammar, writing, reading, and speaking/listening at seven levels of proficiency during. Learn more>
  • Six-Week Evening Program: Our evening program offers six-week courses in English conversation, business and technical writing, grammar, accent reduction, public speaking, job preparation, and TOEFL preparation. Classes meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays-Wednesdays or Tuesdays-Thursdays. Learn more>

Option 2

We can develop customized one-on-one tutorial courses and group training for your business or organization. These group and individualized courses make learning more efficient by focusing sharply on the specific needs of your company and your employees.

Our individualized courses can cover a range of language skills:

  • Accent reduction
  • Oral presentations
  • Interviewing
  • Phone skills
  • E-mail and letter writing
  • Conversation
  • Report writing
  • Business etiquette
  • Grammar and mechanics in writing

The format of the program can include:

  • Classes of up to 15 participants
  • Intensive workshops
  • Semi-private tutorials (two to three students)
  • Private one-on-one tutorials
  • A combination of the above options

Taught by experienced Georgia Tech instructors, our courses are fully tailored to address participants’ job-specific language and vocabulary.

These courses are designed to accommodate participants’ busy schedules. The location is determined based on participants’ preferences either in a space provided on-site at your business or at Georgia Tech.

All students successfully completing the training receive a Language Institute course completion certificate.
