Overview

Atlanta is a great place to live and study. One of the most beautiful cities in the United States, Atlanta is cosmopolitan, yet retains its Southern charm. The capital of Georgia, it is the commercial, industrial, financial, and transportation hub of the Southeast.

Atlanta is the historical epicenter of America's Civil Rights Movement. Today, it is a multicultural city with more than 5 million people living in the metropolitan area. Atlanta has been praised for its relatively low cost of living, its cultural activities, and its Southern hospitality.

Location

Atlanta is the most populous city with more than 5 million residents, in Georgia and the ninth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. Georgia is in the Southeast United States and is bordered by Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the world’s busiest passenger airport, serving more than 85 million passengers in 2006. It is a major connecting hub and has direct flights to numerous destinations around the globe.
